How I Landed 3 Brand Deals Consecutively After Taking The LadyBossBlogger Course

For a few weeks, I have been completing a course from LadyBossBlogger: How to Make Money as an Influencer. This course has covered EVERYTHING – getting to know your target audience, creating your personal brand, creating content, pitching brands, and managing the business side of influencing (money and legalities).

As someone who is new to blogging, fairly new to IG, and VERY new to partnering with brands, I thought that this course was presented in a very straight forward and manageable way. I never felt overwhelmed with information. More importantly, I never felt like I was going to have to change who I am or how I want to represent myself on social media to be successful using the advice Elaine (the creator of LadyBossBlogger) was giving.

But what did I actually gain from this course? What are the measurable benefits?

For me, it was my partnership with brands.

1. My first brand deal

About a week into taking this course I had taken some steps to make my personal media more brand-friendly. I updated my profile on my social media, I signed up for free agencies that help connect brands to influencers, and I updated the aesthetics and format of my personal blog.

After doing all of that, a brand reached out to me about a partnership to review their product. What’s more exciting about this is that it’s a brand I’ve heard of before (outside of the Instagram world)! This brand will be providing me a free gift basket of their products to try and review.

As a brand new influencer, this is exactly the type of partnership I need! I will be able to put this experience on my media kit and it will make me more qualified to pitch my personal brand to go a step further from a free product to paid partnership.

2. My second brand deal

A second brand reached out to me as well. They are a graphic t-shirt fashion company. As excited as I was to be offered another partnership, a voice in my head said: graphic tees aren’t really part of my personal style. And as my Instagram is predominantly fashion-based, it felt like I would be betraying myself to partner with a brand, style their product, and create looks that didn’t really resonate with my personality. I took Elaine’s advice to stay TRUE to my personal brand and turned down this opportunity.

3. My third brand deal

My other success story has to do with my Smile Brilliant partnership, something that had been in the works prior to taking my LadyBossBlogger course. BUT, this course helped me create content for a successful campaign. I followed Elaine’s advice and set up an account to track clicks to my affiliate link, something I haven’t done before. After 2 days I’ve reached 17 clicks to a giveaway, more than halfway to my goal of 25!

For these reasons, I recommend “How to Make Money as an Influencer” to anyone who is looking to start connecting with brands. I’m confident that my following will grow and I’ll be able to monetize a partnership over the next few months!
